Can I call for a quick consultation before booking?

To protect clinic time and dedicate full attention to active sessions, I no longer offer phone consultations. All available information on Rolfing, openings, cost and appointment types can be viewed and on this website and booked directly through the online calendar.

Can I start with a single session, or do I need to commit to series of sessions?

Accepted Answer

Yes — you can absolutely begin with a single session.

Some clients start there because they’re new to the work, want to experience it before making a longer commitment, or feel they only need a tune up. Others decide that a short series or the Ten Series makes more sense based on what they’re dealing with and what kind of support they’re looking for

What can I expect from a Rolfing session?

Accepted Answer

Sessions include a brief review of relevant information, observation of posture and movement, and hands-on Rolfing® work.

Rather than focusing only on one isolated area, the work looks more broadly at how your body is organizing as a whole. Many clients value not only the hands-on work itself, but also the opportunity to better understand the patterns shaping their overall experience.

How often are sessions scheduled?

Scheduling depends on the goals of the client.

Clients who schedule single sessions and are not interested in series work schedule as needed.

Typically, sessions are scheduled 1 -2 weeks apart for series work but that can vary based on a client's schedule or personal finances.

The approach to scheduling is not dogmatic however for clients embarking on the Rolfing series work, it's best to have an idea on when they would like to open and close that process.

What happens after the Ten Series?

Once a client finishes the Ten Series, they can schedule what they refer to as maintenance sessions as often as they need the support. For some, it can be 2-3 weeks after the series, once a month, a few sessions after 3-6 months or even the ten series every 1 - 5 years.

In any case, clients who are physically active, under high amounts of emotional stress or are going through a life transition find that regular Rolfing sessions keep them balanced and at ease physically and emotionally.

Question 6

Are there any contraindications to Rolfing?

Anyone who has a flareup of musculoskeletal symptoms after receiving bodywork or manual therapy should refrain from scheduling. Those who have had a surgery or a broken bone in the last 6 weeks should also refrain from scheduling unless they receive clearance from their physician.

Question 7

Does Rolfing hurt?

Accepted Answer

The work can feel intense at times, but it is not meant to feel overwhelming or forced.

The experience varies from person to person and from session to session, and communication is important throughout. If something feels too intense, that can be adjusted.

Question 8

Is insurance accepted for Rolfing?

Accepted Answer

Insurance is not accepted. However, most employers offer Health Spending Accounts and Flex Spending Accounts which you may use. Contact your provider for more details.
